WEST TEXAS FC
If you want to get to West Texas, it will take you a minute to get here. We are long roads from Dallas, from San Antonio, and from El Paso. Everyone comes to West Texas for opportunities. We are generations of families who have strong, deep roots here and we are also transplants from places all over the world who have come to enjoy the quieter and simpler communities that have thrived all over the area, worlds away from the big city.
West Texas has a strong sporting history. We love sports! Our children have enjoyed the facilites and sports organizations that dot our communities and they live under the long shadows of our successful football, baseball, swim, basketball, and track and field programs, just to name a few. Our memories growing up here and filled with high school football games, professional baseball games, playoffs, and sometimes overnight bus rides to neighboring cities.
West Texas youth and families have had to venture out of our area in order to provide better opportunities for our soccer youth. With the closure of Midland Sockers, they did not have access to enjoy the sights and sounds of semi-professional soccer. West Texas FC hopes to continue in the successful footsteps of Midland Sockers and shortly thereafter expand to include coaching and development programs for our youth. West Texas FC is first and foremost a family venture. We intend to create an exciting and enjoyable experience for West Texas families to enjoy together as a local presence that is committed to community involvement and helping to turn an eye to our local talent.
West Texas FC is starting out as a small but dedicated team who will hit the ground running. Melissa Milan will lead our logistics group as GM. Melissa has dedicated her free time for nearly a decade coaching youth soccer and leading local clinics.
We would like to invite everyone in Midland-Odessa and our surrounding communities to join our West Texas FC family and share in our excitement as we welcome the return NPSL!
